Poly Inspiration Successfully Concludes the 2026 Poly Speech Contest
Poly Inspiration successfully concluded the 2026 Poly Speech Contest on June 27 at Songdo Convensia, bringing together hundreds of students to celebrate the power of confident communication and creative thinking. This year's competition welcomed 442 students from across Korea, while approximately 2,000 parents, teachers, and family members attended the event to cheer on the participants.
Held under the theme "Next Generation Voices," the contest encouraged students to express their ideas confidently in English while developing the critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills needed for an AI-driven future. Speech topics explored a wide range of subjects, including imagination, artificial intelligence, technology, education, personal growth, future careers, and social responsibility. Drawing on their own perspectives and research, students delivered thoughtful, well-organized speeches that reflected both strong English proficiency and a deep understanding of today's rapidly changing world.
The preliminary rounds featured students competing across 15 divisions, each demonstrating impressive presentation skills and confidence on stage. Once again, the participation of seven-year-old contestants added a special highlight to the event. Despite their young age, they captivated the audience with clear pronunciation, remarkable composure, and enthusiastic performances. Elementary school students also impressed the judges by presenting their ideas with confidence, logical organization, and persuasive delivery.
The championship round followed in the Grand Ballroom, where the top finalists from each division delivered their final speeches before a packed audience. On a professional stage filled with excitement and anticipation, students confidently shared their stories and ideas, earning enthusiastic applause throughout the competition.

The event also celebrated another important milestone for Poly students. Outstanding student journalists selected as Editor's Pick winners from Poly Scoop, Poly's digital English magazine launched earlier this year, were invited to the awards ceremony in recognition of their achievements.

Poly Scoop is a student journalism project that provides students with the opportunity to research, interview, and write original English articles under the guidance of Poly's R&D editorial team. Covering subjects such as science, culture, current affairs, and opinion writing, students experience the complete editorial process while developing essential communication and journalism skills. To further enrich the reading experience, each article is complemented by AI-generated visuals and infographics, introducing students to modern approaches to digital storytelling.

Visitors also had the opportunity to explore the Poly Scoop website at a dedicated exhibition space during the event. Students and parents viewed articles written by the young reporters alongside AI-enhanced visual content, celebrating the creativity, curiosity, and accomplishments of the student journalism team.

The event also recognized the winners of Poly Creator, now in its fourth year. Students behind some of the program's most creative video projects gathered on stage, adding even more excitement to the celebration. With more than 1,500 participants this year, Poly Creator continues to grow as one of Poly's signature programs, providing students with opportunities to showcase their creativity, storytelling, and digital content production skills.

Reflecting this year's theme, "Next Generation Voices," the contest highlighted the importance of original thinking and confident self-expression in an increasingly AI-driven world. Throughout the day, students demonstrated not only excellent English speaking abilities but also creativity, resilience, and the confidence to share their own ideas, illustrating the qualities that will help prepare them for the future.
