35 Student Journalists Selected Nationwide to Participate in a Project That Connects Ideas and the World Through English
Poly Inspiration has officially launched Poly Scoop, a digital English-language magazine created by outstanding students from POLY campuses across Korea.
Poly Scoop is a digital publication featuring articles researched, reported, and written by students themselves. The project was designed to help students develop not only English proficiency but also critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy skills. The magazine is available to readers worldwide through its official website at www.polyscoop.co.kr.
The inaugural issue features 35 student reporters representing POLY campuses nationwide. Students explored topics across a wide range of fields, including society, culture, science, and opinion. From conducting interviews and gathering information to reporting on events and issues around them, each student completed an original article based on their own research and perspective.
More than a writing program, the Student Reporter Initiative was designed to provide hands-on experience in the process of creating real media content. Participants received official press kits, including reporter identification cards and reporting notebooks, along with activity support that encouraged active engagement in the reporting process. Through these experiences, students gained a deeper understanding of the role and responsibilities of journalists while broadening their perspectives on the world around them.
To support students throughout the process, POLY’s headquarters R&D Division provided individualized coaching on news writing, interviewing techniques, and article structure. Students learned how to organize information objectively and communicate ideas effectively to readers, strengthening their journalistic and communication skills.
The publication also incorporates AI-powered visual content and infographics inspired by the students’ articles. By combining student-generated reporting with digital media design and AI-assisted content production, Poly Scoop delivers information in a more engaging and accessible format, helping readers better understand each topic while bringing students’ ideas to life.
The project reflects many of the core competencies increasingly valued in the AI era, including creative thinking, critical analysis, problem-solving, and communication. Throughout the reporting process, students learn to ask meaningful questions, verify information, organize their thoughts logically, and express their perspectives clearly. English becomes more than an academic subject—it becomes a tool for engaging with the world.
“Every meaningful change begins with a simple question,” said a representative from Poly Inspiration. “Poly Scoop was created to encourage students to explore the world around them, think critically, and express their ideas through their own voices. We will continue to provide opportunities that help students connect with a wider world through English and grow into confident global communicators.”
Following the enthusiastic response from students and parents to the inaugural issue, Poly Inspiration plans to launch the second Student Reporter Program in July. The next issue of Poly Scoop is scheduled for publication in September.
